Senator Grace Poe Llamanzares must be really tired every after work. We are all aware that a politician’s life is never an easy path to take, but the senator’s home in an exclusive subdivision in Quezon City seem to ease her woes away. Let’s take a tour.
The house exterior flaunts an American feel with traditional Filipino touches as seen in the chosen fixtures—and they really complement each other, even in the interior.
The console table displays two vases and two metal sculptures. It is also adorned by a ‘sarimanok’ by Abdulmari Asia Imao, National Artist for Sculpture, and a mother-and-child mini-statue by Eduardo “Ed” Castrillo.
The living room showcases a semi-abstract ‘sarimanok’ painting, also created by Abdulmari Asia Imao. A grand piano sits at the corner of the space with a portrait of the late Fernando Poe Jr. lying on its top.
Also in the living area is a furnished console table with a reclining Buddha and chrome vase on top of it. On the wall is a painting of Grace’s daughter in a ballet tutu skirt by artist Sandra Feller.
The dining area is a 10-seater dining table. According to the senator, it is actually two tables joined together. The area is lighted up by halogen lighted lights and an old crystal chandelier. The family got the chandelier from their house in Virginia.
The Double L kitchen was designed by Architect Montifar “Monty” Adriano and Grace’s Feng Shui adviser Master Aldric. Grace surely enjoys preparing dishes for her family, such as Filipino favorite kare-kare, baked salmon, and gambas.
An informal living room is also inside the Llamanzares home. It can be accessed through the den and dining area. Plantation shutters were installed which cast a warm glow, making the space cozier. Also found in this area is an art created by National Artist Fernando Amorsolo.
The informal living room also displays invaluable photographs of family and friends. In here, you can see portraits of FPJ and Susan Roces during their younger years together.
The family den placed two furnished woven black chairs.
The backyard boasts a pristine blue pool with a touch of nature and is 10 feet long, a perfect spot for the kids for Grace and her husband to swim in after a long day of work.
The household’s staircase is filled with Grace’s collection of paintings. She explains that she bought some of her paintings from the Art in the Park, a yearly art fair where the artworks are sold for P30,000 or less.
Situated on the second floor is the family room where a photo of Grace being kissed on the cheek by Neil is displayed.
Hanna’s vibrant room contains pop art photo of herself and instruments such as guitars and an organ.
Brian’s room is filled with movie posters, one of which was signed by American film and TV producer Jerry Bruckheimer, the man behind shows like The Amazing Race and CSI. Also in the corner are his medals which he won in various sports competitions in Ateneo.
