The topnotcher of the Nursing Licensure Examination, Mary Angelie Cardente Cabañez, says getting the number one spot is a prayer answered.
According to Cabañez’s interview with Bombo Radyo, the Banga, Aklan born graduate from West Visayas State University said that she was surprised that she was awarded the number one spot. She was number one out of 11,000 who took the test nationally
She did admit, however, that she prayed to God that she would take the coveted number one spot on the nursing board exam.
Ms. Cabañez also admitted that her family was her inspiration and has said that she plans on working abroad.
She topped the 3,882 passers with 86.20%.
It’s been reported that eight students from the island of Panay, who were graduates of West Visayas State University, entered the Top 10 of the Nursing Licensure Examination.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) officially announced the full results including the list of top 10 passers (topnotchers) in the June 2017 Nurse Licensure Exam (NLE) or nursing board exam, on Friday, June 16.
Nona Casey Dela Serna Baring from Cebu Normal University (CNU) and Piny Elleine Soriano Cesar from Saint Paul University (SPU) – Tuguegarao graduate both ranked second with 85.20%.
Cleo Abellana Gomez also from CNU achieved the third highest place with 85.0%.

Julie Mae Suganob, the 7th over all placer, also told Bombo Radyo that she hoped to serve her fellow countrymen by becoming a nurse.
Julie Mae happens to be the niece of Ilonggo priest Father Teresito Suganob who is currently a hostage of Maute terrorists in Marawi.
