  • Inday Sara share Digong's photo with his grandchildren.
  • The President is on a break according the presidential spokesperson.

Yesterday, June 18, 2017, President Duterte spent Father’s Day with his children and grandchildren. Davao City Mayor and presidential daughter Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio, on her Instagram account, uploaded a picture of the President surrounded by his grandchildren.

President Duterte and other Filipino fathers may not be perfect but they deserve credit for their sacrifices, according to Mayor Sara Duterte. The President’s daughter honored all dads on Father’s Day, wishing them health and protection for their families.

“Fathers are never perfect, only human. PRD, Paolo, Baste, Mans, our officers, soldiers, policemen, drivers, professors, doctors, lawyers, psg and every other Filipino father, we appreciate your effort and sacrifice for your respective families. We can recall that the 72-year old president skipped the Independence Day rites in Manila last Monday. He had no public appearance since then. His last public engagement was on Sunday when he appeared in Cagayan to pay respect to the wounded soldiers and in Pasay where he honored the fallen Marines.

According to the Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella, the President also needed some rest after having a hectic schedule in the recent weeks. He also suspended his visit to Moscow because of the ongoing Marawi siege.

“Well, I suppose, you know, frankly you don’t need medical advice in order to tell you that you should rest. Your body tells you that, you know. So but anyway, having said that, he is resting these days,” the Presidential spokesperson said when asked if the President was given any medical advice to go on a break.
Just like other Filipino fathers, President Duterte also deserves to spend Father’s Day with his family.
