Talented children amaze the world with their gifts. While many excel in sports, dancing, or maybe acting, this 8-year-old kid showed that he is an expert in saving lives. Harrison Holt was able to save his baby sister’s life from a fire.
The young boy’s father, John Holt told TODAY that he had just mowed the lawn and placed the mower back at the barn. Then he noticed that the area that connected the barn to the house had caught fire.
John rushed to the house with a fire extinguisher. However, he failed many times to put out the fire. It was then that he decided to tell his children to leave the house and call 911.
While the father is still attempting to stop the flames, Harrison remained calm.
The family agreed to have a meeting spot which is the big oak tree near their property.
There, the 8-year-old was steadily talking to 911 while holding his baby sister.
Meanwhile, Harrison’s fearlessness was acknowledged by the Milan-Dummer Fire Department. He was given the title of an honorary member and a real firefighter badge by the fire chief, Bud Chapman. The family had been receiving help and support from their community due to their burned down house.
The father shared: “There are hundreds of people that we don’t even know sending us gifts, clothes, and gift cards. It’s been absolutely crazy, to be honest with you.”
The bravery that the young boy showed was truly stunned and touched many people. His calmness in such a dangerous situation enabled him to save his younger sister’s life.
“It’s been phenomenal. Believe it or not, it’s been a really good week and a half,” John added.
