As one of the hottest love teams at the Kapamilya network, Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano of LizQuen might be taking their onscreen chemistry off-camera. Just like what happens to other “reel couples” that end up together in reality.
The 25-year-old actor has always been vocal about his feelings and admiration for his younger partner, having recently worked together on a couple of projects under Star Magic. They even attended the Star Magic Ball as each other’s dates in the past, aside from other red carpet events they graced together. During the premier night of Enrique’s movie, “Seven Sundays”, Liza was also present to support him.
And based on their respective social media accounts, the bankable couple seem inseparable these days. Perhaps this is a sign of more serious things to come for the real-life lovebirds?
In one interview with PUSH, Enrique candidly said something that piqued everyone’s curiosity.
Enrique refrained from putting a label on their relationship, saying that they are respecting Liza’s grandfather’s wish to remain single until she turns 21.
“Respeto sa lolo niya which ‘yung tumayo as father niya. ‘Yung promise kasi nong nasa States pa siya iyon ‘yung sinasabi ng lolo niya basta ha pag 21 ka na, 22 ba ‘yun? Okay na. So she’s just doing it kasi nanood lagi ‘yung dada niya na nasa States na may heart condition,” he recalled.
He added: “She’s just doing it as respect.”
To date, the young beautiful actress is just 19 years old. And to Enrique, young love such as theirs can’t be stopped. These days, who cares about labeling, anyway?
“Para sa akin, kami na. Para sa akin, ganon na eh. Lagyan mo ng label o wala, parehas lang yan sa akin ngayon, parang ganon na rin,” he emphasized.
In fact, the “Dolce Amore” star insisted that they are more than just boyfriend-girlfriend.
“Parang mag-asawa na kami, hindi na jowa. Mag-asawa na ang level, ‘yung dating sa‘kin ha. Ganon ‘yung nakikita ko. ‘Yung pagiging jowa na ‘yun wala na sa amin ‘yun, wala na kahit magka [on] na kami, over na kami don.”
He continued, “It’s more of a long term na to’, ganon na kami.”
It seemed like Enrique is hell-bent on winning over his onscreen partner. Does Liza feel the same way? We could only surmise that the feeling is mutual when she shyly burrowed her head into Enrique’s back during a PEP interview back in 2016.
