A peaceful night turned into a horrendous nightmare for a woman after being repeatedly stabbed in a Caloocan robbery. The middle-aged victim, who was identified as Joan Bongares from Barangay 167, was reportedly stabbed 46 times but she managed to live to tell the tale.

How many people are resilient enough to bear 46 stab wounds in their body? It just goes to show that the 33-year-old victim is tougher than she looks – which is why the suspect couldn’t keep her down. Based on a report published in ABS-CBN News, the suspect in the gruesome Caloocan robbery was identified as 38-year-old Michael Franco.

The suspect’s clear motive was to rob the house of the victim. However, things escalated quickly when the resident proved to be more than a defenseless victim. Instead of helplessly falling victim to the robbery, Bongares fought for her life and blocked Franco’s attempt at robbing her.

The two struggled for a while, and Franco immediately overpowered the victim. During the struggle, Bongares sustained multiple stab wounds from her assailant, who used three different weapons while attacking.

The suspect was quoted in saying:

“Nag-dilim po paningin ko tapos sabi pasukin daw namin. Sumigaw po siya kaya sinaksak ko.”

According to the report, Franco reportedly used a kitchen knife, a fork, and an ice pick while attacking the victim. Miraculously, Bongares managed to survive her stab wounds and managed to identify her attacker by pretending to be dead. Furthermore, the suspect, who is a suspected victim of the notorious Sputnik gang, claimed that he was drunk when the gruesome Caloocan robbery occurred.

Apparently, he was out drinking with his buddies when they dared him to rob a house. According to him, he was not expecting that Bongares would fight back. Currently, the suspect is in the custody of the local authorities from Caloocan city.
